The most important parts have been adopted, unnecessary fat was thrown out, little amandments have been made, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. This has passed the test of time for me as seeing it again recently it proved much better than I expected it to be. He has an attitude almost expected of a Chris Columbus film from the eighties. Kevin's father, Peter Heard , is very calm and laidback. Then, Kevin discovers about two burglars, Harry and Marv, about to rob his house on Christmas Eve.
The overwhelming success of 'Home Alone' it spawned two sequels , is enough to guarantee that most people will love this story of a family that departs for Paris on the Christmas holidays, mistakenly leaving an eight-year old boy to fend for himself. Also, he places Kevin and co. The proof is in the pudding--they must have done something right!! But the youngest in the family named Kevin got into a scuffle with his older brother Buzz and was sent to his room which is on the third floor of his house. It almost acting as a dark version of Stand By Me. Action Crime Drama Thriller When Fred gets out of prison, he decides to start over in Miami, where he starts a violent one-man crime wave. Others in the cast don't have as much to do but do well enough by their roles, particularly Catherine O'Hara and John Heard as the parents who only discover on the plane that Kevin is missing.
The very concept of a small bunch of diminutive, aggressive and stupid aliens being mistaken as kids in Halloween dress is magnificent. The most striking thing about the film was Tim Curry's iconic, creepy performance as Pennywise the murderous clown. Kevin acts quickly by wiring his own house with makeshift booby traps to stop the burglars and to bring them to justice. All in all, 'Home Alone' is probably the best Christmas movie to rise out of the film industry in the last twenty years. One day Kevin wakes up from his sleep to find his wish has come true: his parents John Heard and Catherine O'Hara have disappeared. Despite a cast made up of no-name stars, this may just be the funniest Martian invasion ever put to film.
Opposing Fred is Sgt Hoke Moseley, a cop who is getting a bit old for the job, especially since the job of cop in 1980's Miami is getting crazier all the time. He does things that would make a hamster blush. I'm watching a tape of it as I type and it's still dang funny! It will most likely appeal to Sci-Fi fans. She is aggravated very easily and, like all mothers, her instinctive nature to care for her child is what drives her to the point she goes to in the film. This film has a little bit of something for everyone and the fact that the backdrop is the Christmas holidays, only makes it that much more special.
What more could go wrong?. And then there's Pesci and Stern. Some scenes were really nostalgic, the ones showing them play down by the river and go on bike rides. Then, the next morning, while the rest of the family was in a rush to make it to the airport on time, they completely forgot about Kevin who now has the house all to himself. After defeating the demonic clown as kids, it resurfaces 30 years later and they must finish it off as adults once again.
